Yes, Chef: The First Shift Shooter Made in 7 Days

What’s the worst first shift you’ve ever had? Because we think this one takes the take. 

For Indie Game Academy’s Level 3 Game Jam, Team Everlost accepted the mission of creating a Galaga clone in one week. Of course, our first thought was to make Galaga with frogs. That naturally led to us asking, what if cooking was also combat? 

You can see how Yes, Chef: The First Shift was born, yes? Yes, Chef is a kitchen defense shooter where you cook meals to upgrade your firepower and fight off a rival chef’s army. 

🐸Shoot to survive: Your boss has enemies, and now you do, too.
🐸Cook to upgrade: Meals make you stronger. Don’t ask why.
🐸Defend the kitchen: No pressure, it’s just your first shift.
